With Women in Mind

It was standing room only at the first ever With Women in Mind series at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver where women came to hear what was new in health care for women. Candace invited leading expert “best of the best” physicians and surgeons to let women know the newest treatments and procedures available for their health concerns. In addition to the amazing doctors, Candace provided her comedic hosting skills to bring enjoyment to the whole evening. Education, informative and fun were the combining elements including giving away 4 round trip tickets to Hawaii!! A % of Proceeds were given to the Loan Fund of the BC/Yukon Society of Transition Houses, benefiting women and children whose safety is in jeopardy.

This entire hour’s discussion took place on the day and time that the Hospital employee’s union when on strike in BC hospitals.  What is ironic is that Candace herself is an HEU member and as an adult educator has assisted in retraining her fellow union members after jobs were restructured in BC hospitals.  Candace determines to find out what has contributed to the health care crisis and how to respond when you find out you are without work? Should we be dependent on a government for our future  that changes every few years?
